Leading French producer Charles Gillibert (Long Day’s Journey Into Night, Annette, Personal Shopper) is helming the sophomore film from director Qiu Sheng, whose directorial debut Suburban Birds received unanimous praise and has been labeled as the “Renaissance of Chinese Cinema”. This new movie sees Sheng taking a new step in filmmaking as well as crossing genres, and telling an ambitious story revolving on family and A.I., set across two decades. In addition, the very mysterious project features what’s expected to be one of the most impressive technical challenge of 2024’s auteur cinema.
